FY 2009 GAAP Classes

Classes will be held at one of three locations:

• 2nd Floor of the Webb Building at 820 Silver Lake Blvd in Dover
• Delaware Fire Service Center, 2307 MacArthur Drive in New Castle (behind the Airport)
• OMB-HRM Training Room, 10th floor, Carvel Building, 820 N French St, Wilmington

1. Classes for New Employees; State Agencies and Schools:
   
   • April 30th at the Delaware Fire Service Center, New Castle
   • May 18th at the Webb Bldg, 820 Silver Lake Blvd, 2nd Floor, Dover
   • Classes begin at 9 AM and end no later than 4 PM, with one hour for lunch
   
   
2. State Agency Update Classes for Experienced Employees:
   
   • Delaware Fire Service Center, New Castle
     • May 8th from 9 AM to Noon
   • Webb Bldg, Dover
     • May 5 or May 20, from 9 AM to Noon
     • May 4, May 12, or May 14, from 1 PM to 4 PM
   • Carvel Building, Wilmington
     • May 6th from 1 to 4 PM
     • May 13th from 9 AM to Noon
   
   
3. School District Update Classes for Experienced Employees:
   
   • Delaware Fire Service Center, New Castle
     • May 21st from 1 PM to to 4 PM
   • Webb Bldg, Dover
     • May 26th from 9 AM to Noon

• From the North: from the North or South, off of State Route 1, take the "North Dover Industrial Exit" (#104). After the toll booths, go straight thru four traffic lights (about three miles - 1 is Rt 13, 2 is DelTECH, 3 is College Rd, and 4 is Walker Rd.) Make a left on Walker Road and at the second traffic light (about 1/4 mile) turn left into Silver Lake Plaza complex. The Webb Bldg is the 2nd on the left.

• From the South:
  
  • Route 13 - In Dover, turn left on South State Street. Proceed through Dover (see** below).
  • Route 1 and 113 - Take Exit 95 (I-10 and Dover AFB North Gate). At the end of the deceleration ramp, make a left onto Route 10. At the third traffic light, make a right on S. State Street. (see ** below)

**Proceed approximately three miles through Dover to Silver Lake. Make a left onto Walker Road (this is a five way junction). At the next traffic light, make a right into Silver Lake Plaza. The Webb Bldg is 2nd on the left.

• From either North or South:
  1. Follow Route 13 or I-95 to Rt. 141 Basin Road
  2. Go North on Basin Road. Follow approximately 1 mile
  3. Turn Left onto Commons Blvd. (Rt. 37) Follow approximately 1 mile
  4. Turn Right onto Old Airport Road. You will see a small green sign that says, “Delaware Fire Service Center.” Follow approximately 3/4 miles
  5. Turn Right onto MacArthur Drive. (past the treatment plant)

NOTE: Two forms of identification are required for building entry
Allow some extra time for parking, going through security, and getting elevators
Parking under the building is $8.50 per day and even for a half-day training will cost close to that
Street parking may be available, but be aware parking enforcement is strict

• From the North: Take 1-95 South into Wilmington, exit at Delaware Avenue off-ramp (exit 7). At light at end of ramp, turn left. Stay to left and continue on 11th Street to French Street. Turn right and follow French Street two blocks to 9th Street (9th and French Streets). Carvel State Office Building is on the left corner. Paid parking is available under the building. The training room is located on the 10th floor.
  
  
• From the South: Follow 13 North to Route 1 North. Follow Route 1 to I-95 North (exit 101 B) to Maryland Avenue/Martin Luther King (MLK) Boulevard exit (exit 6). At end of exit ramp, turn right. At first light, turn right at MLK Boulevard (Route 4 East). Immediately get into left lane, follow signs for Orange Street. Follow Orange Street to 9th Street and turn right. Go down 9th Street four blocks (9th and French Streets). Carvel State Office Building is on the right corner. Paid parking is available under the building. The training room is located on the l0th floor.
